Golfing has become a tradition at The Richman Poorman. Eight years ago a small group of 6 people went out to play the Phoenix Golf course. It has evolved to some 16 - 24 players in high season, from as many as 9 countries, departing at 8 AM three or four times a week. Transportation and tee times are all pre arranged. When staying at the Guesthouse all you have to do is wake up, have some breakfast and go. All the arrangements are taken care of for you.
Every Monday the group goes to Khao Kheow Country Club. The course gives our players a fantastic price on green fees and carts. The remainder of the week courses are reserved based on the general local knowledge of which courses are playing in the best of shape. Making for some great days on the links. The major venues being Emerald golf, Burapha Country Club, Lam Chabang, Treasure Hill and the infamous Siam Country Club (site every February of the Ladies PGA Tour Thailand Open).
In a nutshell the group playing can be defined as " Friends". You only have to play one time with the group to see the comradary not usually associated with so many different backgrounds. The day doesn't just end at the course. As all players return to our restaurant for a winners ceremony. Along with some fine food and drink!
If you decide to play but don't have your clubs with you it's not a problem. Rental sets are provided by the Guesthouse.
If coming to Thailand and looking to play kindly let us know on the contact page when you would like to play so arrangements can be made.
